Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would have placed her in America's child prodigies list. The traits she displayed were normal to a person born in Ireland and with talented parents and family. Maureen made her entrance into this caring haven on the 17th of August, 1920 in Ranelagh (a suburb in Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons was her mother. She was a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman in Dublin who also owned a piece of the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons came second in a family of six FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off this stunning group. Maureen excelled at sports and was a lover of rough play. This natural interest and her talent in performing was astonishing. As a result, she was awarded almost all of the Feis Awards for dramatic and acting in her country of birth. In her 14th year, she became a member of the Abbey Theater to follow her goals in the field of classical theatre as well as operatic vocals.
